Aglaonema Pink 6”

Aglaonema Pink 6”

Light:

Bright, Indirect Light: Aglaonema Pink thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps to maintain its vibrant colors. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Low Light Tolerant: It can tolerate low light, but too little light may cause the pink coloration to fade and slow its growth.

 Watering:

Consistent Moisture: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Aglaonema likes to be kept slightly moist but not waterlogged.

Avoid Overwatering: Be careful not to let the plant sit in standing water, as this can cause root rot. During winter, reduce watering as the plant’s growth slows down.

 Humidity:

Moderate to High Humidity: Aglaonema prefers moderate to high humidity levels. It can tolerate average indoor humidity, but if the air is too dry, the leaf tips may brown.

Increasing Humidity: You can increase humidity by misting the plant, placing it on a pebble tray with water, or using a humidifier.

Temperature:

Warm Temperatures: Aglaonema prefers warm temperatures between 65-80°F. Keep it away from drafts, air conditioners, and cold windows, as it is sensitive to cold temperatures below 60°F

Soil:

Well-Draining Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix designed for indoor plants or a combination of peat, perlite, and sand works well.

Good Drainage: Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

Fertilizing:

Monthly Feeding: During the growing season (spring and summer), feed your Aglaonema Pink with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks. Reduce feeding in fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows.

Diluted Fertilizer: Use a diluted solution to avoid over-fertilizing, which can damage the plant.

Pruning:

Remove Yellow or Damaged Leaves: Prune away any yellowing or damaged leaves to encourage new growth and keep the plant looking tidy.

Control Growth: Trim back leggy or overgrown stems to maintain the desired shape of the plant.

 Repotting:

Every 2-3 Years: Repot the Aglaonema Pink every 2-3 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Spring is the best time to repot, using fresh potting soil.

Choose a Slightly Larger Pot: When repotting, choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one, as Aglaonema likes to be a little root-bound.

 Pests:

Watch for Common Pests: Aglaonema Pink can attract pests such as spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids. Inspect the plant regularly, and if you spot pests, treat them with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Regular Leaf Cleaning: Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth occasionally to remove dust and prevent pests from settling.

Toxicity:

Toxic to Pets and Humans: Like other Aglaonema varieties, Aglaonema Pink is toxic if ingested by pets or humans, so keep it out of reach of children and animals.
