Alocasia Jacklyn 6"

Alocasia Jacklyn 6"

Light
- Indirect light is ideal for Alocasia Jacklyn. Bright, filtered sunlight works best. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
- If growing indoors, place the plant near a window with bright but indirect light.

Watering
- Consistent moisture is key, but avoid waterlogging. Water the plant when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry.
- Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot.
- Reduce watering during the winter months when the plant’s growth slows down.

Humidity
- Alocasia Jacklyn thrives in high humidity (around 60-80%).
- If your environment is dry, consider using a humidifier or misting the plant regularly.

Temperature
- Keep the plant in a warm environment with temperatures between 65-80°F.
- Avoid cold drafts or placing the plant near air conditioning vents.

Soil
- Use a well-draining soil mix. A combination of potting soil with perlite or orchid bark works well.
- Ensure the mix holds moisture without becoming soggy.

Fertilizer
- During the growing season (spring and summer), feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks.
- Cut back on fertilizing during the fall and winter.

Pruning and Cleaning
- Prune away any yellowing or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy.
- Occasionally wipe down the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and allow for better photosynthesis.

Repotting
- Alocasia Jacklyn prefers to be slightly root-bound, but it will need repotting every 1-2 years as it grows.
- Repot in spring when the plant shows active growth.

Pests
- Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs.
- Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Dormancy
- Alocasia plants may go into a dormant phase during the winter, where they may lose leaves. This is normal. Reduce watering but continue to care for the plant as usual, and it will start growing again in spring.
