Monstera Thai Constellation 4”

Monstera Thai Constellation 4”

Light:

Bright, indirect light is ideal for Monstera Thai Constellation. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while insufficient light can cause the variegation to fade.

A spot near a window with filtered light is perfect.

Watering:

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Monstera plants prefer to be slightly on the drier side rather than too wet.

During the growing season (spring and summer), you may need to water more frequently. Reduce watering in the fall and winter.

Soil:

Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix designed for aroids, or a combination of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark, works well to ensure proper drainage and aeration.

Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

Temperature:

Monstera Thai Constellation thrives in warm temperatures between 65-85°F

Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F

Humidity:

This plant prefers high humidity levels (50-70% or higher). If your home is dry, consider using a humidifier or placing a pebble tray with water near the plant.

Misting the leaves can also help, but avoid excessive moisture on the leaves to prevent mold or fungal issues.

Fertilizing:

Fertilize with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows.

 Pruning and Maintenance:

Prune any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant healthy and encourage new growth.

You can also trim leggy growth to maintain a bushier appearance.

Repotting:

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a slightly larger pot with fresh potting mix.

The best time to repot is in the spring, just before the growing season.

Propagation:

Monstera Thai Constellation can be propagated through stem cuttings. Ensure your cutting includes a node (the part of the stem where leaves grow) for successful rooting.

Place the cutting in water or directly in moist soil until roots develop.

Pests:

Watch for common pests such as spider mites, mealybugs, and scale. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Ensure good air circulation around the plant to help prevent pest problems.

Toxicity:

Monstera Thai Constellation is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, containing calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation. Keep the plant out of reach of children and pets.
