 1. Light Requirements

• Needs full sun to bright indirect light (at least 6–8 hours daily).

• If grown indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window or use a grow light.

2. Watering

• Water deeply but infrequently—allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings.

• In spring and summer, water every 2–3 weeks; in winter, reduce to once a month or less.

• Use the soak-and-dry method: water until it drains out, then let the soil dry before the next watering.

3. Humidity & Temperature

• Prefers warm, dry conditions (ideal range: 65–85°F / 18–29°C).

• Protect from frost; if temperatures drop below 50°F, bring it indoors.

• Avoid high humidity, which can cause rot.

4. Soil & Potting

• Use a fast-draining cactus/succulent mix (or mix sand and perlite with regular potting soil).

• A terracotta or unglazed clay pot with drainage holes is best to prevent water retention.

• Repot every 2–3 years if it outgrows its pot.

5. Fertilizing

• Feed with a cactus fertilizer (low in nitrogen) every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

• Do not fertilize in fall and winter.

6. Pruning & Maintenance

• Generally, no pruning is needed, but remove any damaged or rotting sections if necessary.

• Rotate the pot occasionally to ensure even growth.

7. Propagation

• Best propagated from cuttings (let them dry for a few days before planting).

• Seeds can be used, but they take longer to grow.

8. Pests & Problems

• Watch for mealybugs, spider mites, and scale insects. Treat infestations with neem oil or insecticidal soap.

• Overwatering can lead to root rot—ensure proper drainage and let the soil dry out between waterings.
