Light:
• Bright, indirect light is ideal for Syngonium Pink. It can tolerate low light conditions, but the vibrant pink coloration may fade in insufficient light.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
Watering:
• Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Syngonium prefers to be slightly dry between waterings, so be cautious not to overwater.
• During the growing season (spring and summer), you may need to water more frequently, while in the fall and winter, reduce watering.
Soil:
• Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix designed for aroids or a combination of regular potting soil with perlite and orchid bark will provide good drainage and aeration.
• Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
Temperature:
• Syngonium Pink thrives in warm temperatures between 60-80°F
• Protect the plant from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F
Humidity:
• This plant enjoys higher humidity levels (around 50% or more). If your home is dry, consider using a humidifier or placing a pebble tray with water nearby.
• Misting the leaves occasionally can also help maintain humidity.
Fertilizing:
• Fertilize with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
• Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows.
Pruning and Maintenance:
• Regularly remove any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant healthy and looking its best.
• Pruning can help encourage bushier growth and maintain the desired shape.
Repotting:
• Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use fresh potting mix during repotting.
• The best time to repot is in the spring, just before the growing season.
Propagation:
• Syngonium Pink can be propagated through stem cuttings. Make sure your cutting has at least one node and a few leaves for successful rooting.
• Place the cutting in water or directly in moist soil until roots develop.
Pests:
• Watch for common pests such as spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
• Ensuring good air circulation around the plant can help prevent pest issues.
Toxicity:
• Syngonium Pink is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, containing calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
